Tri County Invitational and Conference Meet Information

The Tri County Conference has two end of season meets to accommodate all levels of swimmers.

Invitational Meet

For those swimmers who do not qualify to swim individual events at conference (though they may swim in relays), the Invitational is a meet with all individual events hosted by either Cross Plains, Mt Horeb or Sun Prairie on the Tuesday evening before conference. Awards are given for places 1-6. There is only individual competition.  This is a week night meet.

Conference Meet

The Conference Meet takes place on the last weekend of July each season. Each team has three entries per event. An individual is limited to three individual events and one relay or two individual events and two relays. Coaches determine the line-ups based on qualifying times and potential number of points scored. Line-ups are announced at the beginning of the week of conference. Timely sign-ups are crucial to making this a successful meet.

Saturday

The Conference Meet features preliminaries for all individual events on Saturday. The meet starts at 9am and ends about 4pm with a lunch break. There are warm-ups before both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Sunday

On Sunday, the day starts with warm-ups and an opening ceremony with a presentation of all teams in a parade. The meet begins and runs in the order of a typical dual meet. Individual events run two heats with swimmers who placed with the top 16 fastest times on Saturday. An individual swimmer who places 9th – 16th on Saturday cannot achieve higher than 9th place on Sunday, regardless of time. This final heat determines final placements and points. Relays are swum once, with final placement determined by the fastest times of all of the heats.

Following the last races, points are tallied, there is a meeting of team coaches and presidents, and the results are announced and awards are given.
