Gators Code of Conduct

All Gator swimmers are expected to abide by the Gator code of conduct. Swimmers will receive a copy at the beginning of the season. When a swimmer is signed up for the Gators, they will be electronically agreeing to all expectations and consequences presented in the code of conduct. Both swimmers AND parents should be familiar with this document: GATORS' CODE OF CONDUCT

To report a concern of misconduct, see our review process.

As a swimmer for the MOHO Gators summer swim team, I pledge to be responsible to the following behaviors:

Respect: I will treat my teammates, opponents, coaches, family members, officials, spectators, lifeguards, and myself with respect at all times.  This includes both my words and my actions. Profanity, obscene gestures, bullying, and arguing with officials are not acceptable.  I will be gracious both in defeat and when winning.

Responsibility: I will be a responsible swimmer and represent the Gators with pride, both in and out of the pool. I will follow the rules established by Tri County Conference and USA Swimming as enforced by my coaches and meet officials. I will also follow all MoHo Gator Policies, identified as “Policies” and adopted to be included in Gator Code of Conduct. As an athlete I understand I have a responsibility to keep my body healthy for practice and competition. I will adhere to the rules set forth by the host pool and pool staff.

Ready: I will attend weekly practices to the best of my ability, and be in the pool on time to start each practice. I will participate fully in the practices designed for me by my coaches and not serve as a distraction to others. I will be ready for competition and arrive in a timely manner for warm-ups prior to the start of each meet.

These behaviors are expected throughout the Gator swim team season, both during practice and swim events and also during social events.  Violations of the code of conduct will be addressed in the following manner at the discretion of the MOHO Gator board of directors and coaching staff:

First Infraction: The swimmer will be issued a written or verbal warning and parents/guardians will be notified.  The swimmer will be removed from the pool for the remainder of the day, which may include scratched events if at a swim meet.

Second Infraction: The swimmer will be issued a written or verbal warning and parents/guardians will be notified. The swimmer will be suspended from the following meet.  This does include conference or invite competition.

Third Infraction: The swimmer and parents/guardians will be notified as previous and the swimmer will be suspended for the remainder of the season, including conference or invite competition.

There will not be a refund issued to a swimmer who has been suspended as a result of Code of Conduct violation.
